Coffee

Sometimes after a three day weekend when you return to work you need coffee more than on any other work day. Last weekend I found the nicest cup of coffee in Dublin, from a stall in a farmers food market. It's probably a long way from Canada to Dublin on a Monday morning for a cup of coffee, but if you like your caffeine then you'll do what it takes to get your hit :-)

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day from Dublin. In case you didn't know Dublin is actually the home of St Valentines relics. The relics were donated to the Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin by Pope Gregory XVI in 1836, so I suppose you could say that Dublin not crappy cities like Paris or Venice is truly the center of romance.

Irish Snow

The view from our apartment this week. It may not be home snow but by Irish standards the people here seem to be building snow arks and planning for The Day After Tomorrow.

Harsh Winter

It's been an unusually cold winter in Dublin this year. There was even ice on the lake in the park a few weeks ago. Still cant complain, can we? This photo was taken last Saturday in St Stephens Green. We should enjoy it while we can, in a year or two they are digging up a large part of the historic green to build an underground train station.
